From grades 7-12, we primarily focus on Public Forum, but students will also compete in Model United Nations, Business Case Competition, and Mock Trials.
In grades 5-7, we teach Parliamentary Debate and Public Speaking.
In grades 3-5, we teach Radio Broadcasting and Public Speaking.
Yes! We provide a beginner class to start simple, with personalized help to create a smooth transition into debate and public speaking.
Regular classes begin September of each year and run until late June. There are 1-2 classes per week, except on major holidays. In addition, we run two-week long intensive camps during Winter and Spring breaks. We also host Summer Camps to provide more opportunities to debate.
Students will attend 1-2 classes every week and have the option to ask for additional private classes. These classes can be helpful in preparing for important tournaments.

Grades 7 -12
Saturday morning class: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, or
Saturday afternoon class: 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Yes, of course! Our classes are split up into beginner, novice, intermediate, and varsity debaters, and we'll find the class that best fits you!

Students are taught a curriculum that consists of topic lectures, skill-based lectures, workshops, collaborative research and case writing, speaking drills, and practice debates.
The content is geared towards acquiring the knowledge and skills to compete in speech and debate tournaments. Students will acquire lifelong skills in analytical thinking, and gain the ability to articulate oneself in anuanced, clear, and passionate manner.
Most group classes have 8-10 students. We also provide supplemental private classes to catch up or for intensive prep before a tournament.
Most group classes will have one head coach and one trainer.
BCFL competes in dozens of tournaments every year hosted locally, nationally, and internationally (primarily in the United States).
Major tournaments we attend every year include Harvard, Stanford, Georgetown, Princeton, Seattle University, and the NSDA Tournament of Champions.
All students can sign up for debate tournaments, provided that they meet the tournament's requirements.
Yes! We offer two summer camp sessions, one in July and one in August. The summer camps have three classes per week.
