BCFL was founded in 2009 by David Jung and BrainChild Education to help new Canadian immigrants improve their English skills through speech and debate. Since then it has expanded to a debate academy dedicated to all students who wish to experience the world of speech and debate.
Public Forum Debate
Elevate your debating skills at BCFL. Explore various debate styles, including Cross Examination, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, and Parliamentary, taught tailored to your proficiency level. Seize the opportunity to showcase your talents at tournaments throughout Canada and the U.S., refining your competitive edge. Beyond honing debating prowess, our program serves as a valuable tool for university preparation and application in both Canada and the U.S.

Public Speaking
Embark on a comprehensive journey in public speaking at our Academy's Prep, Junior, and Senior levels, where students master a diverse range of speaking styles, including Persuasion, Informative, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Retold/Storytelling, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Original Comedy, and Original Performance. Mock Trials
